There are several myths surrounding memory care, the specialized attention for individuals with memory impairments, such as Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia. It’s important to debunk these myths to promote a better understanding of memory care by providing accurate information to help families find the right level of care at the right time for their loved ones.

Living in Memory Care Neighborhoods does not take away the independence of those living with dementia. It is our goal to preserve all their remaining abilities for as long as possible. We feel what we do for them, we take from them. When someone living with dementia is not using skills the loss happens quicker. We not only preserve these abilities, but also find ways to increase their independence.

We design our care, meals, and engagement around everyone’s unique preferences. There is always something to do in our Neighborhood, a calendar full of great events, 1:1 interaction, and purposeful opportunities! Our Memory Care is designed for anyone that is currently living with dementia no matter their age.

We often find improvements with residents’ health, due to the great dementia friendly environment we have created, upon their move into our Memory Care Neighborhood. We create opportunities during the day for meals, engagements, snacks, hydration, rest, and care needs. By providing this great routine all needs are met, thus improving their overall wellbeing.
