So, to honor that goal, during the week leading up to June 19, 2022, we will be celebrating the Federal Holiday of Juneteenth with our employees and residents.
Juneteenth marks the day when federal troops arrive in Galveston, Texas, the last corner of the United States, to ensure all enslaved people are freed. Today, Juneteenth honors the end of slavery in the United States. To celebrate, we will have an all-staff pizza party and the directors will go to each staff member and resident and wish them a happy Juneteenth with an ice cream sandwich.
